La Union Tourist Spots x Surfing

PHOTO DIARY- Finally I can now share our La Union photos with my high school friends. Since main reason why tourists go to La Union is surfing, La Union also offers different tourists destinations like Tangadan Falls, Macho Temple, Poro point, and Thunderbird resort.
We reached La Union at 7 am, after breakfast we went straight to Tangadan falls and tried top load. Top loading is one of the ways in riding a jeep. Instead of getting inside of the vehicle, you will go up to the roof the jeep like in Sagada. After 15 minutes of trekking, we finally reached the falls! The water was so cold and perfect for the morning but we decided not to swim. Haha.
After our Visit in Tangadan falls, we went to Halo Halo de Iloko for lunch. Ang daming tao!  After our lunch, went to Macho Temple and Thunderbird resort.
The Ma-Cho temple is a Taoist temple to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu located on Quezon Avenue in San Fernando, La Union. It’s a hidden temple but carefully erected on a hill 70 feet above sea level within a 1 hectare land, overlooking the South China Sea. Inside, I was mesmerized by the intricate dome of the temple and I can feel the Chinese ambiance inside.
White and Blue Greek like architecture of Thunderbird Resorts. The Mediterranean-inspired theme overlooking the South China Sea will never fail your expectations. The beach is a bit rocky and the sand is not powdery white but the overwhelming view of the sunset is worth the while. Thunderbird’s a dream like you are being transported to a new dimension of leisure.
Here's our Day 2 in La Union. As I recall, we went to San Juan beach at 7 am. Surfing instructors are charge separately. Renting a Surf Board per hour costs around Php 200, and the instructors charges the same (Php 200). Some do give extra discounts but most are on that same amount. Our tour guide reserved us slots ahead of time for a surfing lesson as it was a peak season. It was a hot morning during our lesson. Ang daming hot boys e. haha.
While you're still in the shore, the instructor will teach you about the forms and how to stand up properly on the surfboard. I feel that I got a little scared because I don't know how to use a skateboard. And I'm the first one who gave up. Nakakaitim na e. haha. Here are some of my unforgettable moments.
After our surfing experience, we tried one of the famous restaurants in La Union- Surf Shack.
After lunch, we tried grape picking and bought some pasalubongs.
That's all for our La Union trip.
