As flights from Batanes to Manila starts early morning, the recommended first day activity by Wandering Trekk Travel & Tours in exploring the wonderful Batanes is to start with the North Batan tour.
We arrived in Batanes at 7am, we relaxed for the first hours at our
hotel-Casa Feliciano and had our breakfast and lunch too there.
During the first hours in Batanes, the weather was cool and cloudy with
frequent on and off rain showers. Hence, some photos were not that
bright at all.
Listed below are the attractions that will be seen and/or experienced in the Batanes' North Batan tour.
1. Basco Welcome Arch
Having a photo to Basco's welcome arch is a must. This landmark is unique since they added Batanes' stone elements in it. It also has a viewing deck, From it, you can see a spectacular view of the ocean. 2. Mt. Carmel Chapel/ Tukon Chapel
There are several chapels and churches in Batanes. However, as an iconic structure of the island, this is not be missed. Sadly, it was affected by the typhoon and now under renovation.
As Batanes is regarded as one of the best location for weddings, couples who wish to have an intimate wedding ceremony may opt to have it here. Ayan, may picture na kami. hahaha
3. Basco PAG-ASA complex
Next stop is the Basco PAG-ASA weather station. Same with Mt. Carmel chapel it was damaged by the typhoon.
4. Fundacion Pacita
A trip to Batanes is never complete without stopping by at Fundacion Pacita. Fundacion
Pacita Batanes Nature Lodge is a fascinating resort in the idyllic town
of Basco, Batanes, Philippines. It lies on top of rolling hills.
The
lodge is surrounded by the pristine beauty of Batanes that will surely
be loved by all the tourist. The area is really beautiful and peaceful.
With our tour guide, Kuya Romnick.
5. Dipnaysuhwan Japanese Tunnel
If there were no people outside the entrance of the tunnel, I would have
easily overlooked it. A small hole beside the roadside under a tree root
and stones, leading you further underground.
6. Valugan Boulder Beach
When we think of the word beach, immediately what comes to mind is
powdery sand, coconut trees, and idyllic waves. But Valugan offers
something different – boulders from the 15th-century eruption of Mt.
Iraya.
In exploring it, do not get near the edge of the beach as you may be swept by the strong waves. it is indeed impossible to swim here.
A fun thing to do here aside from having a photoshoot is to collect stones and pile it as high as you can. Look!
7. Basco Town Proper8. Vayang Rolling Hills
Vayang Rolling hills is one of the most photographed and most visited in Batanes. The perfect combination of landscape and seascape truly makes it a remarkable sight.
Standing at the Vayang Rolling Hills can give you a clear view of Batan
Island’s east and west side. Also known as Vayang Ranch, this place
captivates tourists with its panoramic beauty: the seemingly endless
hills are carpeted with luscious, green grass and are set against the
breathtaking view of West Philippine Sea.
The fresh, cool breeze from
the ocean and the mesmerizing sight of crashing waves give visitors a
feeling of peace and calm – a perfect refuge from city life. This is one of my favorite spots we've visited in Batanes.
Our Batanes trip will never be complete without seeing the Naidi hills and Basco lighthouse. The Basco lighthouse is the first lighthouse among other lighthouse in Batanes.
Selfie at the sixth level of the lighthouse. We were able to see a spectacular bird's eye view of the Basco town and Mount Iraya.
Dapat high fashion. haha
